Domesticated Bugs

Yesterday I heard one of the funniest things in quite awhile. Domesticated bugs. Apparently, there exists a dividing line between feral bugs and ones which inhabit our everyday homes. These home bugs--flies, mosquitos, some spiders (more on those later) and cockroaches--are considered domesticated and are not to be feared. I find this an fascinating concept, because if you take the thought and extend it to it's natural conclusion, if we can domesticate insects, we could have whole armys comprised solely of roaches!! A roach invasion!! Think of the possibilities!

When I said spiders were a special case, I was informed that spiders of unknown "poisonous" capacity are considered wild and should not be approached. Since it's actually rather difficult to tell if a spider is poisonous, one would naturally assume all spiders are to be feared. Since this implies you need to live in a bubble to achieve a spiderless-world, I'm going to devise a test. If you look at a spider and say "spider spider, go and hider" and the spider runs, or just sits perfectly still, it's harmless. However, if it approaches, you should consider crushing it. :)

Of course, given the wide range of possibilities, I just want to teach Ralphie the Roach to sit up, shake hands and roll over :-P

I'm bored

And I know that everyone wants to hear what I have to say. Because, like, oh my god, I like, think about stuff. And then, I think some more. I might drink some water after that, or even stare aimlessly at the wall. It's the way of things.
